Currently ThermoWood Products uses Pine from its Uimaharju Sawmill and Spruce from Kitee Sawmill for the production of its ThermoWood products. The kilning process is a one stage system which takes green timber to final product without breaks in the process. This one stage system brings significant advantages especially when linked with the online selection of most suitable raw material. The production process consists of five main steps:

Online selection of special ThermoWood grade material using camera grading technology
   
High temperature kiln drying starting from green timber (phase 1)
   
Intensive heat treatment 190-212 °C for 2-4 hours, dependent on end product requirements (phase 2)
   
Cool down and re-moisturising to moisture content between 4-8%, dependent on end product (phase 3)
   
Trimming, further processing, quality grading and packaging
